12 Reflective Days of Christmas – Day 8

On the eighth day of Christmas my true love gave to me … eight books for reading

As my eyes are bad I do very little reading for pleasure: by the time I have read what I need to read for work and life generally, I just need to shut my eyes and rest them. But nowadays that need not mean I miss out on a good book: audiobooks, on Spotify perhaps!

Whether we read to escape or to learn something in particular or to expand our mind, there is no shortage of inspired novels, textbooks, travelogues or biographies. Perhaps this one will help us understand an unusual perspective to life? Or maybe to have a good laugh.

Weather as a companion on a long journey or something to do when feeling poorly, having a supply of books to read can be as important as having a cupboard full of loo rolls!

Follow me for the next verse, tomorrow.
